HYDERABAD: On 9th December, Dr. Anand Raj Varma and Indialogue Foundation members made presentation at Vivekananda Institute of Human Excellence, Ramakrishna Math, Hyderabad.
Swami Srikantananda, Director of Vivekakananda Institute of Human Excellence welcomed the guest and quoted from Swami Vivekakananda’s teachings towards International Connectedness, Awareness of Global Affairs, and advised audience to learn from other cultures and to travel different countries.
Dr. Anand Raj Varma spoke about the long historical relations of Hyderabad with Turkey and Central-Asia, noted the fact that due to these rich ties in Andhra Pradesh in local Telugu language the “Muslims” are addressed as Turkolu which literally means Turkish Descendent. It’s also important incident that Last Caliph of Ottoman Empire Sultan Abdul Majid’s two daughters came to Hyderabad as bride to the sons of Nizam Mir Osman Ali Khan. While Indialogue Foundation movie presentation was shown Dr. Varma explained about objectives and activities of Indialogue, stressed the importance of Interfaith, International Dialogue, suggested audience to participate in alike noble causes. At the end of gathering he shared his experiences and knowledge that he has gained from his Intercultural Journey to Turkey.
