Indialogue Foundation co-organises SDGs Conference 2023 in New York

On the margins of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Indialogue Foundation co-organised an SDGs Conference in New York in collaboration with the Journalists and Writers Foundation and other global partners. It was held on 20th September 2023.

The conference brought together world leaders, diplomats, civil society members, journalists, and academics to discuss challenges and offer solutions for the timely and effective implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Amongst the distinguished speakers at the conference was Dr Ranjana Kumari, Director, Centre for Social Research, New Delhi. Representing India at the international gathering, she presented her views on the topic “Sounding an alarm for urgent action on increasing internationally comparable, gender-disaggregated, available data collection”.

Apart from attending the conference in Manhattan, Dr Kumari also visited various Hizmet Movement-affiliated institutions in New York and New Jersey such the ANT Bookstore & Cafe, Blue Dome Press, Embrace Relief, Advocates of Silenced Turkey (AST), and Pioneer Academy.

She also paid a courtesy visit to the renowned Islamic scholar and thinker, Mr Fethullah Gulen whose ideas and teachings inspired the international Hizmet Movement.

Dr Kumari was accompanied by Secretary-General of Indialogue Foundation, Mr M Behzad Fatmi on her trip to the US.
