Indialogue Short Film Contest 2013 – “Peaceful Coexistence”

Indialogue Foundation and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad are glad to announce Indialogue Short Film Contest 2013. Organizers invite enthusiasts to submit their short films on this year’s theme “Peaceful Coexistence”. The producers can broadly interpret the theme to suit their creative endeavor. The aim of this Contest is to foster universally shared values among public through inspiring short films which can receive wide publicity in social media.
Participation is open to all. Students, Professionals, Freelancers, Employees of educational and academic institutions, non-government organizations and government agencies, and others can take part in this contest. Participants can either be as an individual or a group. Participants are allowed to use any medium for producing their film. When the film is ready please copy it onto a DVD in MPEG-2 format and post it to the address below. You should also attach a declaration stating that it is an original work by you and get it endorsed by the head of the institution/organization that you are affiliated. Professionals and Freelancers can give a self-declaration to that effect. Proforma of the declaration will be uploaded on the website address given below.
Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication is a leading institution in India in areas of fine arts, performing arts and communications. Indialogue Foundation is an action-oriented international organization that envisions eliminating illiteracy, poverty and polarization through educational, academic and cultural programs and projects.

Rule: All films must be original works and must not infringe the copyrights trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity, or otherwise be unlawful. Films can be made in any language with English subtitles. The duration of film should be below 15 minutes.

Judgment: The organizers will short-list the films and upload in YouTube. The YouTube Award will be given to the producer(s) of the film that receives most number of clicks in YouTube website. And the jury too will choose one more film for the Jury Award among short-listed films.

Prizes: Two Awards – YouTube Award and Jury Award – will be given to the two winners. Both the awards will carry prize money of 35,000 rupees respectively. Prizes will be distributed at a special ceremony at Sarojini Naidu School of Arts and Communication, University of Hyderabad. The winners, one representative in case of group participation, will be invited to Hyderabad city. Travel by AC train and accommodation in Hyderabad will be sponsored.

Important Dates:
1st July 2013 – Deadline for submission of films
15th July 2013 – Short-listed films will be uploaded in YouTube
2nd October 2013 – Judgment on Gandhi Jayanti
1st November 2013 – Prize distribution ceremony at SNSAC
