Indialogue Foundation Organizes Interfaith Friendship Iftar Dinners for Ramadan 2024

Indialogue Foundation organized a series of interfaith iftar dinners in the Islamic holy month of Ramadan 2024. These events were held at the Indialogue Foundation office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and in the city of Chennai.

Noida Iftar Dinner

The iftar dinner in Noida was attended by notable figures such as Dr Krishnaswamy Dara, Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science, Jamia Millia Islamia, and journalist Ghazala Ahmed. The gathering also included several PhD students and researchers from institutions like IIT Delhi and Jamia Millia Islamia. The event fostered a familial atmosphere, bringing together the entire staff of Indialogue Foundation.

Chennai Iftar Dinner

The Chennai iftar dinner saw the participation of distinguished guests including author and columnist Faizur Rehman, historian and award-winning documentary filmmaker Kombai Anwar, Reverend Maria Arul Raja S J from Loyola College, Dr P K Abdul Rahman from Madras University, and Indialogue Foundation’s regional coordinator for Chennai, Ulugbek Bolushov.

Background of Indialogue Foundation

Founded in 2005, Indialogue Foundation is affiliated with the transnational civil society organization Hizmet Movement, inspired by the teachings and ideas of US-based Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen. Gülen advocates for an inclusive and pluralist Islam dedicated to the service of humanity. Indialogue Foundation, along with other global partners, has a long tradition of organizing interfaith activities during the month of Ramadan.
