Lecture at Observer Research Foundation Mumbai

DSC 6398MUMBAI: Oberver Research Foundation Mumbai organized a talk by Prof. Anwar Alam on February 7, 2014 to talk of the Hizmet Movement, its influence on Turkish society and its relevance for India and the world. The talk was jointly organized by Oberver Research Foundation Mumbai and Indialogue Foundation. The idea was to highlight Fethullah Gulen’s exhortations of dialogue, tolerance and service – “there are no limits to one’s usefulness to others” — completely shorn of ideological bias, racism, national fanaticism, hatred, jealousy and shame as a model for other societies across the world.
 
About the Speaker: Prof Anwar Alam is Professor at Department of International Relations, Zirve University, Gazi Antep, Turkey. Earlier he was Professor and Director at the Centre for West Asian Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. An alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof Alam has been the recipient of the Indian Council of Social Science Doctoral Fellowship and several other prestigious international fellowships. He has authored several books and contributes articles in national and international refereed journals.
